Massage and Bodywork

Therapeutic Massage

A holistic approach to wellness, massage and bodywork sessions focus on reducing stress and tension in body, mind and spirit. Treatments include a blend of Swedish massage, neuromuscular therapy, myoskeletal alignment techniques and trigger point therapy, which are applied within a gentle, intuitive progression. Sessions aim to provide effective pain relief by addressing specific areas of discomfort, correcting posture and patterns of tension and improving range of motion. Maintenance for occupational or regular activity as well as post-surgery or injury recovery are prioritized, facilitating the healing process and ensuring that you can function at your best.

Thai Bodywork

Thai Bodywork is rooted in Ayurveda, Chinese medicine and indigenous Thai traditions. The goal of this modality is to restore the whole person, physically and energetically, to a state of balance.

This style of bodywork is a combination of techniques, including leaning pressure, acupressure, energy line work, and assisted passive stretching in yoga-like postures. The recipient is moved through a series of positions while they rest and breathe. Sessions are preformed fully clothed (in cotton pants, not shorts please) on a mat on the floor. Thai massage is a full body treatment that begins at the feet and ends at the head, with a focus on the lower body. Practitioners use palms, thumbs, forearms, elbows, knees and feet to apply pressure and position the recipient. There is a general flow and rhythm to the session which the practitioner will adjust to fit the individual.

Thai Bodywork is largely energetic based and increases the flow of prana, or life force, throughout the body. Other benefits can include improved circulation, body alignment, posture, flexibility, breath quality, and aids in the release of toxins and unprocessed emotions stored in the body.
